Who could resist these delightful salad plates? Each features a bucolic country scene in a charmingly naive style.
Maker
: The set of 8 plates is by the highly regarded European maker Villeroy & Boch, the world’s largest manufacturer of ceramics. They have been in business for over 260 years and are justifiably famous for producing fine luxury tableware. This set is no exception.
Six of the plates have a brown Villeroy & Boch mark. One has a black mark and one has a black "House and Garden Collection" mark.
Design
: The pattern is called Design Naif. It's been produced since 1983 and remains in production, no doubt because its charming simplicity would be at home in so many décors. Each piece is signed by the artist "Laplau".

Size
: The plates are 8 1/8 inches wide and together weigh 9 pounds 5 ounces.
Condition
: They have no nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration or repairs. One plate has a significant scratch on the white band. All 8 have many light utensil marks and several also have many noticeable grey utensil marks so this set would fit in best with a dinner service that is already in use.
