8 Rimmed Soup Bowls
The actual Villeroy & Boch soup bowls you are bidding on
are shown
in the photos.  These large, rimmed soup bowls
each
measure 9 3/8" in diameter and
are all in
very
good
antique
condition
without
any
cracks
or
repairs
.  There is
one very
small flea bite on the rim of one bowl (5th photo).
Also,
as is common with antique porcelain, there are several
stray
paint spots.  The largest is on a reverse side (7th photo).
And consistent with
age
and use, there is
slight fading as
can
be
seen in the photos.
Any
light areas or
shadows
in
the
photos
are camera glare.
Finally, the shipping cost may
seem
high; these rimmed
soup bowls are quite heavy.
There is some debate on when the Rouen pattern was manufactured.
It is my understanding that following the separation of the Saar region
from the German Reich in 1920, as a result of the First World War,
the factories there were no longer available to Villeroy & Boch.
